Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Speech Pathologist to provide comprehensive differential diagnostic evaluations and develop management/treatment programs for individuals with communicative disorders, using formal and informal measures. The role is onsite, part-time (32 hours bi-weekly) with variable days.

Responsibilities include documenting services, providing case management and therapeutic intervention, and contributing to departmental projects.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology required; Doctorate preferred.
• Ohio licensure in Speech/Language Pathology required; CCC-SLP certification from ASHA required.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• No supervision experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive differential diagnostic evaluations using formal and informal measures.
• Develop and implement management/treatment programs for communicative disorders.
• Provide case management/therapeutic intervention.
• Document services provided in writing.
• Support department initiatives and participate in special projects/programs.
• Perform other duties as required.

5. Assumes responsibility for ancillary/priority services within department and contributes to development of department by participating in special projects/programs.

Technical Expertise

1. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
2. Experience in healthcare is preferred.
3. Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.

Education and Experience

1. Education: Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology is required; Doctorate is preferred
2. Certification: State of Ohio Licensure in Speech/Language Pathology, Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology [CCC-SLP] from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association [ASHA] is required.
3. Years of relevant experience: Minimum of 3 years is preferred.
4. Years of experience supervising: None.
