Job summary

Indiana University Health System at Riley Hospital - Inpatient Rehab is seeking a speech-language pathologist for a full-time day shift. You will perform evaluations, design treatment plans, and provide direct patient care to improve communication and swallowing.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in speech pathology, a current Indiana license, ASHA CCC or eligibility, and BLS. Advanced life support may be required.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in speech pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current license in the State of Indiana.
  • ASHA CCC or eligibility for this certificate.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA.
  • Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department policies.

Responsibilities

  • Performs speech pathology evaluations to determine level of impairment.
  • Designs a treatment plan to improve communication and swallowing.
  • Provides direct patient care and supervises support personnel and students.
  • Participates in department operations and related activities.

Location: Riley Hospital - Inpatient Rehab
Shift: Full Time Day shift
Roles and Responsibilities

Performs speech pathology services including diagnostic evaluations to determine level of impairment. After administering the appropriate tests and measures, a treatment plan is designed for improved communication and swallowing. Performs direct patient care services including the supervision of support personnel and students. Willingly participates in related activities in support of patient care, education and department operations.

  • Requires a Master's Degree from an accredited academic program in speech pathology; or, if foreign trained, graduation from a speech pathology education program outside the US with educationally equivalent coursework accepted by Indiana PLA.
  • Requires current license in the State of Indiana.
  • Requires a certificate of clinical competence awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility for this certificate.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
