Job summary

Mile Bluff Medical Center in Wisconsin is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to assess and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders, helping patients communicate and swallow safely. This full-time position offers a schedule of 8:00am - 4:30pm, with no weekend or holiday rotation required.

In this role you will perform direct patient care, complete documentation, communicate with insurers, and educate staff about evaluation findings.

Qualifications

  • Professional degree in speech language pathology is required.
  • Masters degree in speech pathology from an accredited program.
  • Eligible for Speech-Language Pathologist license to practice in Wisconsin.
  • Must hold and maintain Wisconsin SLP license.
  • Must maintain a valid, current driver's license.
  • Must maintain BLS certification.
  • 1+ years of related work experience preferred; hospital setting is a plus.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform direct patient care: assess and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Complete patient documentation, including initial evaluations, plans of care, progress reports, and discharge reports.
  • Contact insurance companies regarding benefits.
  • Prepare for evaluation and treatment sessions.
  • Provide education to staff, including nurses, physicians, dietitians, and food service workers, regarding results and recommendations following evaluations and providing guidance based on the most up-to-date research.
  • Create in-service presentations and educational opportunities for staff.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers in order to provide patient-centered treatment.
  • Clean treatment rooms following sessions.
  • Provide reminder calls to patients.
  • Aid patients and families in navigating the hospital.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
