Qualifications

  • CCC-SLP preferred; strong CF candidates considered.

  • Communicate findings, progress, and recommendations to clients, families, caregivers, and referral sources.
  • Evaluate and treat feeding and swallowing concerns when qualified and experienced to provide these services.
  • Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, physicians, educators, and other professionals to support coordinated care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Prepare evaluation reports, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.

Location: Wausau - Grant Street

Position Summary

Behavioral Health Clinic is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide assessment and treatment services to clients ages six and older at our Grant Street location in Wausau. This fee-for-service position may be structured as part-time or full-time based on candidate availability and organizational needs.

The SLP will evaluate and treat individuals with speech, language, communication, cognitive-communication, voice, fluency, and related disorders. Experience working with feeding and swallowing concerns is preferred but not required.

Essential Responsibilities
Assessment and Treatment Services
  • Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations using standardized and informal assessment tools.
  • Administer, score, and interpret assessment measures in accordance with professional standards and test-publisher guidelines.
  • Evaluate and treat speech, language, articulation, fluency, voice, pragmatic language, cognitive-communication, and other communication-related concerns.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and client needs.
  • Provide evidence-based speech-language therapy to clients ages six and older.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
  • Communicate findings, progress, and recommendations to clients, families, caregivers, and referral sources.
  • Evaluate and treat feeding and swallowing concerns when qualified and experienced to provide these services.
Collaboration and Consultation
  • Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, physicians, educators, and other professionals to support coordinated care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case consultations and team meetings.
  • Provide consultation regarding communication needs, accommodations, and treatment recommendations.
Documentation and Compliance
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Complete all required documentation within established timeframes.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, organizational policies, payer requirements, and professional ethical standards.
Professional Responsibilities
  • Maintain current licensure, certifications, and continuing education requirements.
  • Remain current on evidence-based assessment and treatment practices.
  • Participate in quality-improvement and program-development activities as requested.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current Wisconsin Speech-Language Pathologist license or eligibility for Wisconsin licensure.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; strong Clinical Fellowship candidates may be considered.
  • Experience administering standardized speech-language assessments.
  • Experience providing speech-language treatment to clients ages six and older.
  • Experience with feeding and swallowing assessment or treatment preferred but not required.
  • Strong clinical documentation, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and related technology.
