Job summary

Ladgov Corporation seeks a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist for the school year at BIE Cheyenne-Eagle Butte School in Eagle Butte, SD. Schedule is 3 days per week, 8 hours per day, 44 weeks.

You will provide speech-language therapy to students with IEPs, conduct evaluations, and develop or update IEPs, while monitoring progress and collaborating with staff and families.

Qualifications

• Current SD license to independently practice SLP.
• Minimum 2 years school-based SLP experience.
• Experience developing and updating IEPs.
• Knowledge of SD and Federal special education requirements.
• Background clearance; Native American student experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide speech-language therapy to special education students per IEPs.
• Conduct evaluations and reevaluations and develop/update IEPs.
• Monitor goals, maintain therapy records and document progress.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff; participate in meetings.

Location: BIE Cheyenne-Eagle Butte School, 122 East Street, Eagle Butte, South Dakota
Schedule: 3 days per week, 8 hours per day, for 44 weeks during the school year

Requirements

• Current, valid, and unrestricted South Dakota license to independently practice Speech-Language Therapy, with applicable professional certification.
• Minimum 2 years of school-based Speech-Language Therapy experience, including work with students with special needs.
• Experience developing, implementing, monitoring, and updating IEPs.
• Strong knowledge of South Dakota and Federal special education requirements, evaluations, eligibility, and timelines.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to complete required background/security clearance. Experience with Native American students is preferred.

Duties

• Provide speech-language therapy to special education students in accordance with their IEPs.
• Conduct evaluations and reevaluations, prepare reports, and develop or update IEPs.
• Monitor student goals, maintain accurate therapy records, and document student progress.
• Participate in IEP/eligibility meetings and coordinate with teachers, parents, Special Education staff, and school leadership.
• Provide consultation, staff/parent guidance, and recommendations for appropriate therapeutic equipment and resources.
