Job summary

Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a school-based position in Forest City, NC. This full-time role supports students by providing speech and language services under supervision, with a pay range up to $42 per hour and a W-2 employment structure.

You will administer screening and therapeutic protocols, communicate with students and professionals, gather histories, and help manage classroom behavior to foster effective learning.

Qualifications

• Passing score on a competency test approved by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
• Registration as an assistant with the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• School-based experience preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Administers screening protocols for students.
• Administers therapeutic treatment protocols written by the supervising SLP.
• Communicates with students and other professionals to support learning and emotional needs.
• Obtains case histories and completes observation checklists.
• Manages behavior using appropriate strategies.
• Summarizes and records target behaviors during therapy sessions.
