Job summary

Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a school-based position in Forest City, NC. You’ll support students by providing speech and language services that directly impact communication and learning.

This full-time role for the 2026-2027 school year offers competitive pay up to $42/hour, W-2 employment, healthcare benefits, a 401(k) with company match, licensure/CEU reimbursements, mileage between sites, and referral bonuses.

Qualifications

• Passing score on a competency test approved by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
• Registration as an assistant with the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists.
• School-based experience is preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Administers screening protocols.
• Administers therapeutic treatment protocols written by the speech-language pathologist.
• Communicates with students and other professionals to meet the emotional needs of students.
• Obtains case histories and completes observation checklists.
• Manages behavior using appropriately designed management techniques.
• Summarizes and records target behaviors during therapy sessions.
