Job summary

SUNY Upstate Medical University Hospital in Syracuse, NY seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist weekend per-diem to deliver direct patient care across swallowing, feeding, speech, language, and cognitive domains in inpatient settings.

Responsibilities include assessments, treatment planning, documentation, and collaborating with care teams and families; NYS licensure, SLP-CCC or equivalent, and Fellowship completed, with BLS-CPR required by appointment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• NYS licensure required for the state of NY.
• Clinical certification in Speech Pathology (or equivalent) required.
• Completion of clinical fellowship year required.
• BLS-CPR certification required by time of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including assessment and treatment of swallowing, feeding, speech, language and cognitive disorders.
• Cover inpatient diagnoses including stroke, head trauma, head and neck cancer, chronic airway disorders, and related conditions.
• Collaborate with other health care providers and families; document patient care in a timely manner.

Openings available to for per-diem weekend therapists. The Speech Language Pathologist - Weekend will be responsible for direct patient care including assessment and treatment of swallowing, feeding, speech, language, and cognitive disorders covering the spectrum of inpatient diagnoses including stroke, head trauma, head and neck cancer, chronic airway disorder, and related disorders; and services for speech, language, and swallowing in a medically based practice; pediatric to geriatric patient populations. Collaborate with other health care providers and families. Prepare and maintain patient care documentation in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree in Speech Pathology, NYS licensure, clinical certification in Speech Pathology (or its equivalent) and completion of clinical fellowship year required. BLS-CPR certification required by time of appointment.
