Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to evaluate patients and develop speech/language plans of care across speech, language, voice, cognition and swallowing, in collaboration with the physician. Services are provided across the full continuum with a focus on cost-conscious, quality-focused care.

Responsibilities include planning and provision of care, patient assessment, documentation, and adherence to ethical practices.

Qualifications

• Masters in Speech-Language Pathology is required.
• Licensed SLP and BLS certification is required.
• Good communication, customer service, and teamwork are essential.
• Ability to document according to departmental guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Implements the speech language therapy treatment plan.
• Selects appropriate treatment activities to progress patient toward goals.
• Revises goals/plan of care with patient/family input.
• Provides discharge instructions, follow-up and referrals to community resources as appropriate.
• Acts as referral source for staff, families, physicians on services and equipment related to rehabilitation services.
• Documents evaluation and plan of care according to department guidelines.
