Job summary

A healthcare organization in the United States is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - PRN to provide vital therapy aimed at enhancing speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing capabilities. The ideal candidate will hold a master's degree in Speech Language Pathology, have experience with adult patients, and possess a valid Georgia license. This role includes documenting patient care and communicating progress with a focus on professional growth and employee well-being.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of six months of speech therapist experience with adults and geriatrics.
  • Current and unrestricted Speech Language Pathologist license in Georgia.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Current and unrestricted SLP license in the practicing state.
  • Current CPR certification and strong organizational/communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide therapy to maximize speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities.
  • Communicate patient progress to supervisor and team members.
  • Document patient care as per regulatory requirements.
  • Instruct patients' family or nursing staff in follow-through programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

How you'll contribute

A Speech‑Language Pathologist who excels in this role:

  • Play an important part in helping our patients recover and feel better about themselves by providing therapy to maximize speech, language, cognitive and swallowing abilities
  • Communicate patient progress or problems to supervisor and other team members; assist with patient scheduling and post‑charges daily to patient records
  • Document patient care in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer and accrediting requirements
  • Instruct patients' family or nursing staff in follow‑through programs
  • Other duties as assigned

What we're looking for
  • Graduate of a master's level program in Speech Language Pathology which is accredited by the Education Standards Board or whose practice meets ASHA certification requirements
  • Meet the education and experience requirements for Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology or Audiology granted by ASHA
  • Minimum of six months speech therapist / speech language pathologist experience working with an adult and geriatric population
  • Current and unrestricted Speech Language Pathologist license in the state where services are rendered
  • Current CPR certification
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
