Job description

Overview

A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available in a middle school setting within Illinois for the upcoming school year. This contract role provides specialized services to students within a low incidence program, fostering communication development in a collaborative educational environment.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct speech and language therapy services to middle school students
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 20 students with low incidence needs
  • Conduct evaluations and develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) while ensuring compliance with documentation standards
  • Collaborate closely with educators, support staff, and families to address student communication goals
  • Participate in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions to support student progress
  • Apply evidence-based practices to enhance student learning and communication outcomes
Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders required
  • Active Illinois SLP license necessary
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellows (CFs) will also be considered
  • Experience working with middle school students and/or low incidence populations preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills essential
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting
Details
  • Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.
  • Contract position starting at the beginning of the upcoming school year
  • Located in a supportive Illinois school district
Compensation
  • Range from $41.40 to $61.40 per hour
