Job summary

Adoration Health, serving the Ashland area, is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist for a PRN role in Ashland, Alabama. The clinician will evaluate speech or language difficulties, determine ongoing therapy needs, and guide patients in sound production and alternative communication methods, including sign language.

The position emphasizes independent work with team support, providing education to healthcare staff, and documenting progress in accordance with agency policies.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Current, unrestricted license as a Speech Language Pathologist by state in which practicing.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR certification in accordance with state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with patients to evaluate their levels of speech or language difficulty, determining the need for continued therapy services.
• Teach patients how to make sounds and improve their voices.
• Teach alternative communication methods, such as sign language, to patients with little or no speech capability.
• Educate and guide healthcare team members, patients, and caregivers in specific aspects of therapeutic exercises to support continued progress outside of direct therapy sessions.
• Document appropriate progress and clinical notes noting patient's response to therapy and submit visit documentation per Agency policy.
