Job Overview

A great SNF / LTC is looking for an experienced Speech Language Pathologist / SLP (SLP‑CCC) to join their growing team for a contract assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assess referred patients for speech, hearing, and language deficits.
• Teach patients how to make sounds, improve voice quality, and increase oral or written language skills to communicate more effectively.
• Instruct individuals on strengthening swallowing muscles or using compensatory strategies to swallow safely without choking or inhalation.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school.
• Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist / SLP or be in the process of obtaining licensure.
• Current CPR certification.
• Work within an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement a plan of care for each patient.
• Provide skilled speech therapy services/interventions in accordance with physician orders.
• Assess patient needs, plan, evaluate, and modify care to meet goals of speech therapy interventions.
• Set realistic and achievable goals for patients to develop or recover reliable communication and swallowing skills to fulfill educational, vocational, and social roles.
