• Teach patients to produce sounds, improve voice, and enhance oral or written language skills.
• Train individuals on strengthening muscles or using compensatory strategies to swallow safely.
• Work within an interdisciplinary team to develop care plans and provide skilled speech therapy in accordance with physician orders.
• Assess patient needs, plan, evaluate, and modify care to meet therapy goals.
• Set realistic and achievable goals to help patients develop reliable communication and swallowing skills.
