Job summary

Pivot Rehabilitation in Lufkin, TX seeks a licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate and treat patients, develop goals, and supervise CFYs and interns within a supportive clinical team.

The ideal candidate holds ASHA CCC, a current state license, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with patients, families, and staff in a community-focused rehabilitation setting.

Qualifications

• CCC from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
• Clinical Fellowship (CF) with supervision by a certified and licensed SLP
• Current state license in the state of practice
• Strong communication skills and ability to relate professionally to patients, families, and staff
• Capable of performing responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations

• Screens, evaluates, and treats patients
• Completes comprehensive evaluations using appropriate tools and procedures
• Reviews patient records for diagnoses, history, precautions and contraindications
• Establishes measurable goals and develops treatment plans for independence
• Supervises CFYs, speech interns, and rehab techs in direct patient care and related activities

Essential Functions

• Screens, evaluates, and treats Patients
• Completes a comprehensive evaluation using appropriate evaluation and assessment tools and procedures
• Reviews patient records for current diagnoses, past medical history, precautions and contraindications
• Establishes measurable goals and develops treatment plan to move the patient toward his or her maximum level of independence and/or function
• Supervises CFYs, speech Interns and rehab techs in direct patient care and patient-related activities in accordance with state practice act

Qualifications

• Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association
• A Speech-Language Pathologist completing Clinical Fellowship (CF) with appropriate supervision from a certified and licensed SLP
• Current state license in the state of practice
• Must have good communication skills and be able to relate professionally and positively to patients, patients’ family members, and staff
• Must be capable of performing the responsibilities of this job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
