Job summary

Regency Hospital is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to serve at Regency Hospital - Portage, IN and Regency Hospital - East Chicago. The role requires travel between two locations and offers a full-time schedule with a $15,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

  • Requires current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • BLS certification or completion within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluation of communication and/or swallowing functions.
  • Provide goal-oriented treatment to improve communication and/or swallowing ability.
  • Collaborate with Rehab Therapy Department to monitor service quality and participate in peer reviews.
  • Assist in developing the SLP program and revising department policies as needed.
  • Maintain adequate stock of supplies and contribute to patient care planning.

Location: Regency Hospital - Portage, IN & Regency Hospital - East Chicago (must be willing to travel between two locations)

Schedule: Full-time

Responsibilities
  • As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will take initiative, responsibility, and action every day; you understand physical, mental, psychological and social needs of your patients.
  • You have an understanding of communication skills, evaluation, and treatment and a desire to work in collaboration with associates to provide quality interdisciplinary patient programming.
  • You will provide a comprehensive evaluation of communication skills and/or swallowing function and provide goal‑oriented treatment to facilitate maximum communication and/or swallowing potential.
  • Participate with fellow staff in monitoring the quality of services provided by the Rehab Therapy Department.
  • Participate in peer review for staff performance and appraisals.
  • Assist in the development of the SLP role in programs and services, as well as revising the departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining an adequate stock of supplies.
  • Exhibit willingness to share professional knowledge and experience. Alerts the Manager to educational needs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required.
  • Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech‑Language & Hearing Association.
