Join Our Team as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)!


Rehabilitation Center of Orlando is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. In this rewarding role, you will help residents improve communication, cognitive function, and swallowing abilities while enhancing their overall quality of life.


Key Responsibilities


  • Evaluate residents and develop individualized speech-language pathology treatment plans.

  • Assess, treat, and monitor residents with speech, language, voice, cognitive, and swallowing (dysphagia) disorders.

  • Design personalized therapy programs based on each resident's abilities, interests, and rehabilitation goals.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.

  • Recommend and assist with acquiring adaptive communication devices and train residents in their proper use.

  • Provide cognitive and communication therapy to maximize resident independence and quality of life.

  • Modify treatment plans as residents' needs and progress evolve.

  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment goals, techniques, and home programs when appropriate.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary care plan meetings, staff meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Provide education and training to nursing, medical, and therapy staff on speech therapy techniques and swallowing safety.

  • Supervise Speech Therapy Assistants and support personnel in accordance with state regulations and professional standards.

  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, state, and facility guidelines.

  • Foster a compassionate, resident-centered environment that promotes dignity, respect, and individualized care.


Qualifications


  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

  • Current Florida Speech-Language Pathologist license or eligibility for licensure.

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or eligibility to obtain.

  • Strong clinical experience in dysphagia management and cognitive rehabilitation.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.

  • Nursing home, rehabilitation, or skilled nursing facility experience preferred.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
