Job summary

Mariner Healthcare's Fruitvale Healthcare Center in Oakland, CA seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents per a care plan while conducting specialized hearing and speech tests and supporting safe swallowing techniques.

The position requires a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology, California SLP licensure, and CCC certification, with a sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology required.
• One year clinical experience preferred.
• Certification in Clinical Competency required or anticipated.
• Current California license to practice SLP required.

Responsibilities

• Screens and evaluates residents and develops appropriate plan of care.
• Provides direct resident treatment in accordance with the plan of care.
• Administers, scores, and interprets hearing and speech tests.
• Works with residents on swallow techniques.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Completes required forms and documents per policy and regulations.

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) responsibilities within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Screens and evaluates residents and develops appropriate plan of care.
• Provides direct resident treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
• Works with residents for functional swallow techniques.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Entry Qualifications and Skills:

• Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred.
• Certification in Clinical Competency.
• Current license to practice Speech-Language Pathology issued by the state of California.
