Overview

A school dedicated to supporting children with disabilities is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join its team in Bronx, NY. This role plays a key part in helping students build communication skills essential to their learning and development, and new graduates are welcome to apply.

What you'll do

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations using standardized tests and observations to identify and assess speech and language difficulties
• Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) with specific goals, therapy strategies, and measurable outcomes tailored to each student
• Provide individual or group therapy using techniques like articulation drills, language stimulation, and play-based interventions
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student communication needs and overall development
• Maintain progress records, write reports for IEP meetings, and communicate findings

Required qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Current New York licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
• Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
• Strong understanding of child development and typical speech and language milestones

Preferred qualifications

• Pediatric experience preferred, but not required
