Job summary

Fairview Hospital / Cleveland Clinic in New York seeks a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to optimize communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing abilities for residents in a skilled nursing setting.

You will develop, oversee, and implement therapy programs across speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders, while assessing and treating residents and guiding families with education and discharge planning. A collaborative, compassionate team member is essential.

Qualifications

  • Valid NY professional license in good standing.
  • Experience in skilled nursing facilities or nursing homes required.
  • SLP-CCC or SLP-CFY certification is acceptable.
  • Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
  • Compassionate, cooperative, and dedicated to providing high-quality care.

Responsibilities

Job description

Role: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) responsible for optimizing communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing abilities of residents in a skilled nursing environment.

  • Assess, evaluate, diagnose, and treat residents with relevant disorders.
  • Provide training and education to residents and their families about therapy programs.
  • Create and manage treatment plans, including initial assessments and discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote resident recovery and well-being.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Valid professional license in NY in good standing.

  • Either SLP-CCC or SLP-CFY certification is acceptable.
