Job summary

Starr Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health in Athens, TN, seeks a Speech Therapist PRN for the Rehabilitation Department. The role involves independent assessments, planning and educating patients, and facilitating discharge planning, with a focus on delivering exceptional care within a community setting.

The position requires a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, TN licensure (or provisional with 12-month goal to full licensure), and BLS at hire.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
• Tennessee Speech Therapist License or provisional license with plan to obtain full license within 12 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Designs and implements a plan of care involving patient and family.
• Educates patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.

How You'll Contribute

An Speech Therapist - PRN who excels in this role:

• Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Designs and implements a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient and family.
• Educates and counsels patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress.
• Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services.

Applicants should have a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology and a current Tennessee Speech Therapist license. OR Current provisional Speech Pathology License in State of TN with the expectation to obtain a regular Speech Path License within 12 months of hire. Additional requirements include:
