Job summary

Onyx Health Consulting is seeking a Speech Therapist to work in a skilled nursing facility environment, diagnosing and treating speech and language disorders and planning rehabilitative programs to restore communicative efficiency.

The role requires evaluating residents referred by physicians, developing treatment goals, and ensuring proper documentation and adherence to standards. CFYs supervision is part of the duties.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• CCC or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year
• Current state licensure
• Current CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Evaluates residents referred by physicians and develops treatment goals.
• Provides treatment as ordered; plans, establishes, and executes proper treatment program.
• Contacts the physician for reports and care as needed; observes and reports responses to therapy.
• Instructs residents and families on speech therapy procedures.
• Participates in staff development and in-service education programs.
• Supervises CFYs as per ASHA guidelines.
• Maintains standards of care, ethics, and personnel qualifications.
• Meets productivity and utilization expectations; completes timely clinical documentation.

Education

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Certificate of Clinical Competency or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year

Current state licensure

Current CPR certification
