Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Newport News, VA seeks a Speech Language Pathologist at Mary Immaculate Hospital to diagnose and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders across all ages.

You will conduct evaluations, design treatment plans, educate families, and collaborate with the care team. Licensure as an SLP is required; CCC-SLP preferred within one year; BLS required within 30 days for some sites.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of practice.
• CCC-SLP certification preferred at hire and required within one year.
• BLS certification preferred upon hire and required within 30 days for BSMH, RSFH.
• Years of experience in equivalent setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess referrals and patient conditions to determine therapy needs.
• Conduct evaluations, re-evaluations, and discharge plans based on assessments.
• Administer SLP treatments tailored to individual patient needs.
• Design rehab programs addressing speech, language, swallowing, and cognition.
• Educate families and caregivers on home therapy procedures.
• Collaborate with healthcare team and participate in patient care conferences.
