Job summary

Bon Secours is hiring a Speech Language Pathologist for St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond. The role focuses on diagnosing and treating speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive-communication disorders across all ages.

You will conduct evaluations, design plans, and implement a range of therapeutic techniques. Responsibilities include assessments, discharge planning, home therapy training, and collaboration with the health care team in a 40-hour day shift setting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates age-appropriate care across pediatric to geriatric patients.
• Proficient with general computer tasks (data entry, word processing, email).
• Ability to analyze patient conditions, progress, and plan care.
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with patients, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assess referrals, conditions and histories to determine therapy needs.
• Perform evaluations, re-evaluations, and discharge planning.
• Deliver speech-language pathology treatments per plan.
• Design rehab programs for language, speech, swallowing and cognition.
• Educate patients and families on home therapy continuation.
• Collaborate with care team and participate in patient care conferences.
