Job summary

Glendale Transitional Care Center seeks a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents with communication, swallowing, and cognitive disorders, ensuring adherence to state and federal guidelines.

You will work under physician direction, plan and implement treatment programs, administer tests, educate families, and maintain accurate records in a facility setting.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• Current state license to practice Speech-Language Pathology.
• Certification in clinical competency required.
• One year clinical experience preferred.
• Covid-19 vaccination required.
• Compliance with California COVID-19 mandates.

Responsibilities

• Screens and evaluates residents and develops appropriate care plan.
• Under a physician's direction, provides direct patient / resident treatment based on established plan of care.
• Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication and / or swallowing or cognitive problems.
• Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
• Instructs residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
• Maintains patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
• Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.

Education

Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology

Speech-Language Pathologist license

Clinical competency certification

1 year clinical experience
