Job summary

Baxter Management, LLC in Illinois seeks an AAC Consultant (Augmentative and Alternative Communication Consultant) / Speech Language Pathologist to drive sales and placements of Speech Generating Devices through marketing, in-services, demonstrations, and clinical evaluations with SLPs and other health professionals.

Job titleAAC Consultant (Augmentative and Alternative Communication Consultant) / Speech Language PathologistReports toDirector of Marketing & Business DevelopmentSupervisesNoneExpectation of Work Hours/classificationMonday-Friday / Full Time Salary ExemptJob purposeThe primary function is to achieve Goals for Sales and Placements of Speech Generating Devices through Marketing, In-Services, Demonstrations, and Evaluations with Speech Language Pathologists (SLP) and other Health Care professionals, patients, and families while adhering to all company, accreditation, and HIPPAA rules and regulations.General ExpectationsRegular, reliable, and predictable attendanceComply with all applicable company policies, procedures, and patient protocols. Comply with all current government regulations and professional standards respecting patient care.Develop and maintain working knowledge of current Speech Therapy products, and other services offered by the organization and all applicable insurance guidelines for coverage and reimbursement.Duties and responsibilitiesManage his/her territory to reach revenue and service goals set by companyMaintain rapport with all referral sources, speech clinics and DME partners.Help with the processing of all orders in a timely manner with DME partners, speech clinics and MDs and help as neededSchedule and arrange delivery of devices in a timely manner as required.Assist with training of the DME partners to make sure they are knowledgeable with equipment and trained on delivery and setupFollow up with all patients delivered our product to make sure they understand the use of the product to enable them to give our organization a great referencePromote products and services to all referral sources in the community through ongoing and direct contact. Responsible to call and follow upon all major referral sources on an ongoing basis in person and no later than a month from last contact.Call Points include, but are not limited to:Speech Therapy ClinicsSchool SystemsRehabilitation Facilities and HospitalsHome Health Care agenciesPrivate Duty Nursing agenciesSLP Programs (Universities)Advocacy Groups and AssociationsResponsible to be available to referral sources at any timeAssist in training subsequent AAC Consultants as company growsAbility to report and work on all designated spreadsheets weekly to help maintain continuous flow of documentation and demonstrate referral management and partnerships and document in software systems as needed (Brightree/Sharepoint)Other duties as neededExperience & Qualifications include:MS, CCC-SLP (Master of Speech, Certificate of Clinical Competency – Speech Language Pathologist) is strongly preferred SLP-A (Bachelor’s degree, Speech Language Pathologist – Assistant) will be consideredAAC Devices and SoftwareSelf-starter with strong work ethic and desire to succeed and build profitable territoryClinical experience combined with sales aptitude are equally required in this positionAbility to work independentlyOutstanding Communication and presentation skills – both written and oralAbility to present ideas and product attributes to audiences ranging from one on one to large groupsExcellent analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skillsWillingness to work a flexible schedule and travel as needed, up to 25%Must carry personal liability insurance with a minimum limit of 100,000Courteous Customer Service (internally and externally)System Proficiency (Microsoft Suite, 10-key skills, AAC Software's, and other needed software applications)Excellent computer skillsKnowledge with Apple and Microsoft products a plus.Must love helping People (both internally and externally)High level of attention to detailPositive influence on all employeesAble to manage multiple priorities and close the loop when interruptedAble to demonstrate a high degree of passion and energy whilst maintaining a positive outlook.Physical requirementsWhile performing the duties of this position, employee may be required to stand for extended periods of time and must talk and hear. Occasional stooping, bending, twisting and crouching may be required. The employee sits, walks, kneels and reaches with hands and arms. May be required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
