Job summary

Kensington-Health-and-Reha is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to plan and administer a speech therapy program for patients/residents recovering from illness, disease or injury.

The role involves evaluating referrals, developing treatment plans, coordinating with physicians and other staff, supervising aides, documenting progress, and contributing to departmental policies and budgets.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in speech-language pathology with CCC; Alabama license.
• CFY (Clinical Fellowship Year) completed or in progress.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds with frequent lifting up to 10 pounds.
• Local travel for patient treatment as needed.
• Ability to work indoors with exposure to challenging conditions.
• Effective communication with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Review referrals and medical records to determine speech therapy treatment.
• Plan and prepare written treatment programs based on evaluation data.
• Collaborate with physicians and health practitioners to optimize care and integrate therapy.
• Record treatment, response, and progress of patients/residents.
• Supervise speech therapy aides and oversee student training as needed.
• Diagnose and evaluate speech, language, swallowing, and related factors.
• Direct and conduct treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency.
• Maintain documentation for third-party reimbursement and reporting.
• Participate in department meetings and policy development.
