Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System seeks a part-time Speech Language Pathologist to provide therapy across acute care, rehabilitation, and outpatient settings. You will work within the rehabilitation services department, delivering quality care and participating in QA initiatives.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year experience with swallowing disorders or extensive dysphagia management, prefer acute care or rehab exposure, and hold Idaho licensure (or provisional). ASHA certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience with swallowing disorders or extensive dysphagia management experience.
  • Previous experience in Acute Care or Rehabilitation is preferred.
  • Current licensure or provisional permit issued by Idaho required.
  • ASHA CCC preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide speech therapy services to acute care, rehabilitation, and outpatient populations.
  • Participate in planning, implementation, and evaluation of quality assurance programs.
  • Follow policies and procedures established by the medical center and rehabilitation services department.

Education

Speech Language Pathologist licensure (Idaho) or provisional permit
ASHA CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
ASHA membership

Job description

Employment Type: Part time Shift: Day Shift

As a Speech Language Pathologist at Saint Alphonsus Health System, you will provide speech therapy services to acute care, rehabilitation, and outpatient populations in compliance with policies and procedures established by the medical center and/or rehabilitation services department. This includes delivering quality care to individuals and families, as well as participating in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of quality assurance programs.

This is a PRN (as-needed) position with an anticipated schedule of Friday through Sunday.

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of experience with swallowing disorders OR extensive dysphagia management experience within an internship/externship program. Previous experience in Acute Care or Rehabilitation is preferred.

License/Certification:

  • Current Speech Language Pathologist licensure or a provisional permit issued by the State of Idaho.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from either AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS.
  • Active membership within ASHA preferred.
