Education: postgraduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an ASHA-accredited program. CFY eligible or CCC.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an ASHA accredited program.
• Clinical Fellowship Year eligible or Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
• Work Experience: Less than one year.
• Certification/Licensure: Current SC state licensure required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and treats speech and language disorders and impairments.
• Conducts evaluations of an individual's speech and language skills using relevant diagnostic materials and tools.
• Develops treatment plans that utilize appropriate intervention approaches, strategies, and materials.
• Establishes treatment priorities that include advising, educating, and counseling.
• Completes required documentation to record assessment and progress.
• Collaborates with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers to provide effective therapies.
• May direct support staff in assisting with treatment.
