A leading health organization is seeking a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist to provide individualized patient care for speech and language disorders. Responsibilities include assessing patients, setting goals, and developing treatment plans. The role requires a Master's degree and relevant licensure in Michigan.
Scope of Work:
The Speech-Language Pathologist is an independent health care professional who provides individualized patient care by assessing and treating speech, language, social communication, cognitive communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders in children and adults, per physician referral. Responsibilities include evaluating referred patients, establishing patient- and family-centered goals, and developing and executing treatment plans to promote or maximize independence in the discharged setting. The staff speech-language pathologist also participates in performance improvement and educational opportunities that support the growth and development of the department and profession.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS

A. Education / Training:
• Master’s Degree, Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA), or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), ASHA.
B. Work Experience:
• Experience in adult/children neurological speech and language disorders, evaluation and treatment, including aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, dysphagia, laryngectomy, stuttering, and voice disorders.
• Experience with head and neck cancer, tracheostomies, cognition, TBI, dementia, and modified barium swallow studies.
C. Certification, Licensure, Registration:
• Certificate of Clinical Competence, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (required), or
• Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
• Licensure in Speech Pathology in Michigan (required) or temporary license during CFY (required).
