Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for PRN day shifts in hospital settings, working with patients of all ages to assess, diagnose and treat communication and swallowing disorders.

The role includes evaluating and implementing treatment programs, contributing to protocol improvements, and ensuring documentation aligns with state regulations and hospital policies. Licensing in Kentucky and ASHACCC/CFY eligibility are required, with BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Masters or Doctorate Degree in Communication Disorders for Speech Pathology from an ASHA‑accredited program.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Kentucky.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence or Clinical Fellowship Year eligible.
  • BLS Certification Required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and/or implement a treatment program for referred patients.

Job Description

Speech‑Language Pathologists (SLPs) play a critical role in hospital settings, working with patients across various age groups and medical conditions. Their primary responsibility is to assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders.

Their duties can vary, but include:

  • Responsible for the evaluation and/or implementation of a treatment program for all referred patients.
  • Responsible for contributing to the development and the upgrading of treatment programs and protocols.
  • Responsible for the development and achievement of departmental goals, objectives, and performance improvement indicators.
  • Completes position responsibilities by following established guidelines & protocols within appropriate time frame.
  • The PT will complete documentation according to applicable national and state regulations as well as hospital and departmental policies.
  • The therapist will participate in departmental operational plan.
Requirements
  • Masters or Doctorate Degree in Communication Disorders for Speech Pathology from an accredited institution by the American Speech‑Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) New graduates accepted but experience is preferred.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Kentucky and Certified.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence or Clinical Fellowship Year Eligible.
  • BLS Certification Required.
