Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an Outpatient Speech Language Pathologist for a part-time, first-shift position. You will plan and implement treatment programs for individuals and groups, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team and maintaining communication with doctors and health staff.

You will also contribute to staff education, follow hospital policies, and support students and volunteers as needed.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Master’s or Doctoral degree in the area of speech language pathology or communication disorders from a program accredited by the ASHA (or higher).
  • Kentucky State License or interim license as a Speech Language Pathologist required.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA or in CFY if interim license is held.
  • BLS from American Heart Association (AHA) - required within 90 days of hire.

The Speech Language Pathologist shall plan and implement specific treatment programs for individual patients and patient groups according to the principles and practices of speech therapy. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including evaluate and treat patients; maintain communication with doctors and other health personnel; and supervise volunteers and students. The Speech Language Pathologist will assist with education for the speech therapy staff, hospital staff, and community at large as needed. The Speech Language Pathologist will follow hospital and departmental policies and procedures. The Speech Language Pathologist follows hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements
  • Requires a Master's or Doctoral degree in the area of speech language pathology or communication disorders from a program accredited by the Council for Academic Accreditation of the American Speech Language Hearing Association, or higher.
  • Kentucky State License or interim license as an Speech Language Pathologist required.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Hearing Association or in the case of an interim license, is in their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) required.
  • BLS from American Heart Association (AHA) - required within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in acute care, SNF, and/or outpatient experience preferred.
