Job summary

Kern River Transitional Care in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate and treat residents. You’ll communicate with families and the healthcare team, document services, and participate in ongoing staff training.

Responsibilities include rapid evaluations, treatment planning, supervision of CFYs, and active involvement in discharge planning. California licensure and EHR proficiency are required or preferred, with compensation at $70–$75 per hour DOE.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Current California SLP license in good standing.
• Experience with Casamba or PointClickCare is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients within 24 hours (or 1 business day) of physician referral and document delays.
• Develop and implement effective treatment plans and obtain physician approval.
• Treat patients according to the physician’s plan of care.
• Supervise CFY (Clinical Fellows) and assist in training staff.
• Communicate progress and plans with supervisors and interdisciplinary teams.
• Participate in Patient Care Conferences and Rehabilitation Conferences.
• Prepare evaluations, daily notes, weekly progress reports, and recertifications.
• Assist in discharge planning and caregiver education.

Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – PRNKern River Transitional Care – Bakersfield, CAPay Range: $70 -$75 per hour (DOE)General PurposeThe Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates and treats patients, communicates with families, physicians, and other healthcare team members, and maintains accurate documentation of services in the medical record.
