Job summary

Northside Hospital Rehabilitation Team is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders across inpatient and outpatient settings. Eligible clinicians will develop and implement therapy programs aligned with clinical competency, serving diverse age groups from neonate to geriatric.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology required.
• CCC certification through ASHA or in progress with completion within one year.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates speech, language, cognitive, and communication impairments; develops and administers speech therapy programs for inpatients and outpatients across age groups.
• Provides patient and family education and maintains courteous, patient-focused communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Evaluates speech, language, cognitive, and communication impairments, as well as swallowing, airway, clinical voice and resonance disorders. Develops and administers speech therapy programs and treatments for inpatients and outpatients of age groups defined by clinical competency, which may include neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. The duties of this position require patient and family education and the exercise of courtesy and patience in speaking with and assisting patients, families, medical personnel and others in order to provide quality customer service.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology.
• Must be certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for all age groups.
• Must be certified (CCC) by the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association, or meets the educational requirements for certificate and in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification with completion in one year.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and other government regulations.
