Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients across age groups, from neonates to geriatrics, in inpatient and outpatient settings.

The role involves developing and administering therapy programs, patient and family education, and collaborating with physicians and the rehabilitation team to deliver high-quality care. Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology and CCC or eligibility with BLS are required.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology is required.
  • CCC-SLP certification or eligibility for certification within one year is required.
  • BLS certification from American Heart Association is required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates speech, language, cognitive and communication impairments, and swallowing, airway, voice and resonance disorders.
  • Develops and administers speech therapy programs for inpatients and outpatients across age groups from neonate to geriatric.
  • Provides patient and family education and collaborates with medical staff to ensure quality customer service.

Education

Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology
CCC by ASHA or eligible for certification within 1 year
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

Evaluates speech, language, cognitive, and communication impairments, as well as swallowing, airway, clinical voice and resonance disorders. Develops and administers speech therapy programs and treatments for inpatients and outpatients of age groups defined by clinical competency, which may include neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. The duties of this position require patient and family education and the exercise of courtesy and patience in speaking with and assisting patients, families, medical personnel and others in order to provide quality customer service.

REQUIRED
  1. Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology.
  2. Certified (CCC) by the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association, or meets the educational requirements for certificate and in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification with completion in one year.
  3. Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
PREFERRED
  1. Previous patient care experience.
