Job summary

Northside Hospital Inc. is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat speech, language, cognitive, and communication disorders across age groups in inpatient and outpatient settings.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s in Speech/Language Pathology, be CCC-certified (or eligible with planned certification within a year), and hold CPR certification for all ages. Weekend work is required, with hours from 8:00 to 4:30.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech/Language Pathology required.
• CPR certification for all age groups required.
• CCC certification by ASHA or in process with 1 year to complete; Medicare/Medicaid knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates speech, language, cognitive, and communication impairments; treats swallowing, airway, voice, and resonance disorders.
• Develops and administers speech therapy programs for inpatients and outpatients across age groups.
• Provides patient and family education and collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Evaluates speech, language, cognitive, and communication impairments, as well as swallowing, airway, clinical voice and resonance disorders. Develops and administers speech therapy programs and treatments for inpatients and outpatients of age groups defined by clinical competency, which may include neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. The duties of this position require patient and family education and the exercise of courtesy and patience in speaking with and assisting patients, families, medical personnel and others in order to provide quality customer service.

Qualifications

REQUIRED: 1. Master’s degree in Speech/Language Pathology. 2. Must be certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for all age groups. 3. Must be certified (CCC) by the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association, or meets the educational requirements for certificate and in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification with completion in one year. PREFERRED: Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and other government regulations.
