Job summary

Northside Hospital in Atlanta is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat inpatients and outpatients, across neonate to geriatric populations, with a focus on patient education and quality service.

The role requires a current Georgia license, CCC-A/ASHA certification, by 1 year, and BLS, plus at least two years of clinical experience in rehabilitation settings. You will join a seasoned, multidisciplinary team with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Current Speech-Language Pathologist license by the Georgia Board of Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology, and Hearing Aid Dispensing
  • Two (2) years clinical experience.
  • CCC-A/ASHA certification or in the process of certification with completion in one year
  • Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates speech, language, cognitive, and communication impairments, and swallowing, airway, and related disorders.
  • Develops and administers speech therapy programs for inpatients and outpatients across age groups defined by clinical competency (neonate to geriatric).
  • Provides patient and family education and collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams to ensure quality care.

Evaluates speech, language, cognitive, and communication impairments, as well as swallowing, airway, clinical voice and resonance disorders. Develops and administers speech therapy programs and treatments for inpatients and outpatients of age groups defined by clinical competency, which may include neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. The duties of this position require patient and family education and the exercise of courtesy and patience in speaking with and assisting patients, families, medical personnel and others in order to provide quality customer service.


REQUIRED


  1. Current Speech-Language Pathologist license by the Georgia Board of Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology, and Hearing Aid Dispensing

  2. Two (2) years clinical experience.

  3. Certified (CCC) by the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association or meets the educational requirements for certificate and in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification with completion in one year.

  4. Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).


PREFERRED


  1. Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language
