Job summary

Northside Hospital Inc. Rehabilitation Team seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders in inpatients and outpatients across age groups.

Develops and administers therapy programs and provides patient and family education to ensure quality care. Requirements include a Master’s degree in Speech/Language Pathology, ASHA CCC (or in process with completion within a year), at least 2 years of clinical experience, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology.
  • CCC by ASHA or in process toward certification with completion within one year.
  • Two (2) year clinical experience.
  • BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates speech, language, cognitive and communication impairments, swallowing, airway and voice disorders.
  • Develops and administers speech therapy programs for inpatients and outpatients across age groups.
  • Educates patients and families, delivering courteous and patient-centered care.

Education

Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology
Two (2) year clinical experience
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

Evaluates speech, language, cognitive, and communication impairments, as well as swallowing, airway, clinical voice and resonance disorders. Develops and administers speech therapy programs and treatments for inpatients and outpatients of age groups defined by clinical competency, which may include neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. The duties of this position require patient and family education and the exercise of courtesy and patience in speaking with and assisting patients, families, medical personnel and others in order to provide quality customer service.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology.
  • Certified (CCC) by the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association or meets the educational requirements for certificate and in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification with completion in one year.
  • Two (2) year clinical experience
  • Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
