Job Description

Qualifications/Experience:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-LanguageHearing Association preferred
• Valid Minnesota Department of Education licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
• Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting preferred
• Knowledge of special education due process and compliance requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Needed:

• Knowledge of speech, language, voice, fluency, and social communication disorders
• Strong understanding of special education procedures, including evaluation, eligibility determination, and IEP development
• Ability to interpret assessment data and develop individualized treatment plans Effective collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and families
• Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage time effectively and maintain accurate documentation
• Commitment to culturally responsive practices and inclusive educational environments

Specific Tasks:

• Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for students
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines
• Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services to students
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and families to support student success
• Participate in child study meetings, IEP meetings, and multidisciplinary team discussions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with district and state requirements
• Provide consultation and training to staff regarding communication strategies and supports
• Support students across a variety of service delivery models
