Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises the work of assistants and students as applicable with State and Federal guidelines.
• Follows all organizational and facility safety procedures regarding personal protection and patient safety.
• Expands clinical and professional knowledge through associations and continuing education.
• Keys information into EMR and rehab systems.
• Supports and participates in department operations and development.
• Communicates patient status and needs to patients, family, caregivers, or other members involved with patient care.
• Evaluations are initiated per MD orders and payer guidelines.
• Develops treatment plans and provides treatment aligned with benefit and reimbursement.
• Educates staff and third-party payer on benefits and functional outcomes.
• Completes documentation including evaluations, progress notes, summaries, or monthly reports.
• Screens all individuals who may benefit from therapeutic intervention.
• Uses professional judgment to ensure safety of self, patients and others.
• Achieves quality patient care through interdisciplinary cooperation and protocols.
• Attends continuing education and provides inservice training to enhance knowledge and skills.
• Provides clear directives to assistants and rehab techs prior to patient care.
• Con fers with Program Specialists and supervisor to develop and implement new programs and techniques.
• Maintains licensure, certification and credentialing.
• Submits billing, payroll, and expense documentation timely.
• Makes referrals to other rehab team members.
