UCHealth is seeking an Inpatient Speech Language Pathologist to join the Speech Rehab Unit in Aurora, CO. The role is onsite with a weekend days shift, part of a structured career ladder and pay progression within UCHealth.

The position requires a Master’s degree, Colorado licensure, and BLS certification. You will conduct comprehensive evaluations, design therapy plans, educate families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech Pathology or Communication Disorders required.
  • Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies certification to practice Speech Pathology required.
  • BLS Healthcare Provider certification required.
  • BLS/CPR card good through start date and 60 days after hire.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' speech, language, voice, and related abilities.
  • Develop and implement personalized therapy plans based on assessment findings and patient goals.
  • Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers on communication or swallowing disorders, prognosis, and home practice strategies.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.

Speech Language Pathologist Inpatient

Location: UCHealth Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion, Aurora CO

Department: Speech Rehab Unit

Work Schedule: PRN, 0.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Weekend Days

Pay: $38.72 - $58.08 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant‘s relevant experience.

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master‘s degree in Speech Pathology or Communication Disorders.
  • Current certification with Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies to practice Speech Pathology required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
  • BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.

Speech Language Pathologist:

  • Provide extensive education to patients, their families, and caregivers regarding their communication or swallowing disorder, prognosis, therapy techniques and home practice strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals (e.g. physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupation therapists, audiologists, teachers) to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
