UCHealth UCHlth Yampa Valley Med Center in Steamboat Springs is seeking a licensed Speech Language Pathologist to join our Acute Rehab team. This onsite role supports pediatric and adult coverage with a focus on comprehensive patient care.

You will evaluate and treat patients, develop plans of care, educate families, and participate in discharge planning. Eligibility requires Colorado licensure, a master's degree in Speech Pathology, and current CPR/BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Speech Language Pathologist required (CO licensure).
  • Master’s degree in Speech Pathology or Communication Disorders.
  • BLS/CPR certification required; CPR/CPR card valid through start date.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient’s condition.
  • Establishes a plan of care appropriate to problems identified with patient/family involvement.
  • Educates patient and family about deficits and use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
  • Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting.
  • Supervises support personnel in accordance with licensing laws and practice standards.
  • Contributes to a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and supports pediatric and adult coverage for barium swallow studies.

M-FPay: $38.72 - $58.08 / hour. Summary :Evaluates and treats patient populations for therapy needs.

Responsibilities
  • Performs and documents initial and ongoing assessments of patient‘s condition.
  • Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient/family according to their capabilities and desires.
  • Provides education to the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits and information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
  • Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting.
  • Performs all underlying duties of the job including but not limited to supervising support personnel according to established licensing laws, state regulations and practice standards.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
  • This position supports PEDS and adult coverage needed for barium swallow studies. These are all different specialties.
Requirements
  • Licensed Speech Language Pathologist
  • Prefer 2-3 years‘ experience
  • Master‘s degree in Speech Pathology or Communication Disorders.
  • Required Licensure/Certification: Current certification with Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies to practice Speech Pathology required.
  • Minimum Experience: None required.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
  • BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
