Job summary

Children's Hospital Colorado in Highlands Ranch seeks an entry-level Speech-Language Pathologist I to provide diagnostic evaluations and intervention for children with speech, language, learning, feeding/swallowing, or hearing disorders across inpatient, outpatient, outreach, and telehealth settings.

This regular, full-time position offers a CAP pathway, competitive pay, and benefits with shifts Monday–Friday (four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts).

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
  • Experience in AAC, DHH, and/or Autism is highly desired.
  • CCC-SLP and Colorado SLP license (DORA) are required or must be completed within 3 months.

Responsibilities

  • Complete diagnostic evaluations and develop intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with families, physicians, schools, and other providers to ensure continuum of care.
  • Engage in professional development and contribute to departmental goals.
  • Conduct evaluations and provide developmentally appropriate, evidence-based services.
  • Incorporate cultural-competence and family-centered care in services.

Position Overview

The Speech-Language Pathologist I provides diagnostic evaluations and intervention programs for children with speech, language, learning, feeding/swallowing, or hearing disorders in all settings in which services are offered including but not limited to inpatient, outpatient, outreach, and telehealth programs. The Speech-Language Pathologist I is an entry level position in a Career Advancement Program (CAP).

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Completes case management activities consistent with department quality assurance and quality improvement standards. Completes written documentation in accordance with department standards for format, location, and time frames. Assists in achieving departmental financial budget targets
  • Collaborates with the family, physicians, schools and other educational institutions, and other providers to ensure the continuum of care for the child and optimal clinical services. All interactions are non-judgmental and based on mutual respect.
  • Demonstrates leadership and participates in systematic, planned professional development to improve the clinical, educational, research, and advocacy goals of the department and hospital.
  • Completes diagnostic evaluations consistent with contemporary, evidence-based practice in speech-language pathology and department quality assurance standards. Clinician incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services.
  • Provides developmentally appropriate intervention services consistent with contemporary, evidence-based practice in speech-language pathology and department quality assurance standards. Clinician incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Degrees
    • Master's degree in Speech- Language Pathology or related field.
  • Experience
    • Highly desired expertise in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH), and/or Autism
  • Licenses & Certifications
    • BLS for Healthcare Providers/CPR
    • American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)-Speech-Language Pathologist
    • State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license
    • Credentialing must be completed by the Medical Staff Office (MSO) within 3 months of employment
