Children's Hospital Colorado is seeking an entry-level Speech-Language Pathologist I to provide diagnostic evaluations and intervention for children with speech, language, learning, feeding/swallowing, or hearing disorders across inpatient, outpatient, outreach, and telehealth settings. The role requires a Master's in Speech-Language Pathology, ASHA CCC-SLP, and Colorado licensure within 3 months, with bilingual Spanish speakers

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
  • Bilingual and/or Spanish speaking candidates highly preferred.
  • ASHA CCC-SLP certification is required.
  • Colorado SLP license is required or credentialing within 3 months.

Responsibilities

  • Completes case management activities and documentation per department standards.
  • Collaborates with families, physicians, schools, and other providers to ensure continuum of care.
  • Demonstrates leadership and participates in professional development.
  • Conducts diagnostic evaluations for speech-language pathology in line with evidence-based practice.
  • Provides developmentally appropriate intervention services with family-centered care.

Job Overview

The Speech-Language Pathologist I provides diagnostic evaluations and intervention programs for children with speech, language, learning, feeding/swallowing, or hearing disorders in all settings in which services are offered including but not limited to inpatient, outpatient, outreach, and telehealth programs. The Speech-Language Pathologist I is an entry level position in a Career Advancement Program (CAP).

  • Department Broomfield Therapy
  • Position Status 40 hours per week; eligible for benefits
  • Shift Monday-Friday, no weekends
    Five 8-hour shifts or Four 10-hour shifts
  • Salary Information Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
    Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $78,659.24 to $117,988.86
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Completes case management activities consistent with department quality assurance and quality improvement standards. Completes written documentation in accordance with department standards for format, location, and time frames. Assists in achieving departmental financial budget targets
  • Collaborates with the family, physicians, schools and other educational institutions, and other providers to ensure the continuum of care for the child and optimal clinical services. All interactions are non-judgmental and based on mutual respect.
  • Demonstrates leadership and participates in systematic, planned professional development to improve the clinical, educational, research, and advocacy goals of the department and hospital.
  • Completes diagnostic evaluations consistent with contemporary, evidence-based practice in speech-language pathology and department quality assurance standards. Clinician incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services.
  • Provides developmentally appropriate intervention services consistent with contemporary, evidence-based practice in speech-language pathology and department quality assurance standards. Clinician incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education
    • Master's degree in Speech- Language Pathology or related field.
  • Experience
    • *Bilingual and/or Spanish speaking candidates highly preferred*
  • Licenses & Certifications
    • BLS for Healthcare Providers/CPR
    • American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)-Speech-Language Pathologist
    • State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) license
    • Credentialing must be completed by the Medical Staff Office (MSO) within 3 months of employment
