Job description

BAYADA Home Health Care

is currently seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist, SLP, for a per diem opportunity performing home health visits for our office.

• This office services adult and geriatric patients in homes throughout Alexandria/Arlington, VA.

• Prior home care experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, SLP is a plus, but not required.

As a home care Speech Language Pathologist, SLP, you will be an integral member of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team that provides rehabilitative care and skilled nursing to clients, enabling them to receive the necessary medical care to remain at home.

Speech Language Pathologist, SLP Responsibilities:

1. Make home visits to clients in designated geographic territories.
2. Perform thorough evaluations to assess, diagnose, and provide therapeutic interventions for clients experiencing speech, language, communication, or swallowing difficulties.
3. Develop a treatment plan based on evaluations, physician's orders, and goals.
4. Continuously assess and revise the speech therapy care plan, and collaborate with BAYADA clinicians in the multidisciplinary care plan as appropriate.
5. Educate and instruct patients, family members, or other representatives in rehabilitative care and activities to promote health, safety, and independence.
6. Accurately document observations, interventions, and evaluations related to patient care using a state-of-the-art touch pad tablet.

Speech Language Pathologist, SLP Qualifications:

1. Current license as a Speech Language Pathologist in VA.
2. Possess a certificate of clinical competence in speech from the American Speech and Hearing Association, or an equivalent educational background and work experience, with eligibility to take the ASHA certification exam.
3. Complete necessary work and education requirements, as indicated by transcripts or diploma, and be in the process of accumulating supervised work experience for certification.
4. Solid computer skills; prior experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
