Job description

BAYADA Home Health Care is currently seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist, SLP, for a Per Diem opportunity performing home health visits for our office located in Towson, Maryland.

• This office services adult and geriatric patients in homes throughout West Baltimore County.

This per diem opportunity involves seeing approximately 5-10 clients per week during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Must be available to see clients residing in West County Baltimore. Prior home care experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, SLP, is a plus but not required.

As a home care Speech Language Pathologist, SLP, you will be an integral member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team providing rehabilitative care and skilled nursing to clients, enabling them to receive necessary medical care while remaining at home.

Responsibilities:

1. Make home visits to clients in designated geographic territories.
2. Perform evaluations to assess, diagnose, and provide therapeutic interventions for speech, language, communication, or swallowing difficulties.
3. Develop treatment plans based on evaluations, physician's orders, and goals.
4. Assess and revise care plans continually, collaborating with BAYADA clinicians as appropriate.
5. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on rehabilitative care and activities to promote health, safety, and independence.
6. Document observations, interventions, and evaluations accurately using a state-of-the-art touchpad tablet.

Qualifications:

1. Current license as a Speech Language Pathologist in Maryland.
2. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, or equivalent educational and work experience, with eligibility to take the ASHA certification exam.
3. Solid computer skills; prior experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
