Job summary

Glenburnie-Rehabilitation-and-Nursing-Center in Richmond, VA seeks a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents with speech, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, primarily in a geriatric population.

You will develop individualized therapy plans, collaborate with nurses, therapists, and dietitians, document progress, educate families, and support palliative care communication needs in a compassionate, patient-centered team.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
• Strong clinical knowledge and experience in adult and geriatric care.
• Empathy, adaptability, and excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to meet residents' rehabilitation goals.
• Collaborate with nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, dietitians, and social workers to create a comprehensive care plan.
• Document assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Educate residents and families about therapy goals, strategies to maximize quality of life, and swallowing strategies.
• Provide palliative care support focusing on communication and swallowing needs.
