Job summary

Spring River Inn in Roswell, New Mexico, is hiring a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for full-time or PRN roles within an in-house rehabilitation team. New graduates are encouraged to apply.

The SLP will evaluate, diagnose, and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, helping patients regain function and improve communication and quality of life.

Qualifications

  • SNF or long-term care experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of current speech therapy practices and dysphagia management.
  • Experience with Net Health or similar EMR systems preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to improve communication and safe swallowing function.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans and strategies; monitor progress and adjust as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with policies and regulations.

Position Overview

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating residents with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. This role plays a critical part in helping patients regain function, improve communication, and enhance overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to improve communication and safe swallowing function
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans and strategiesMonitor patient progress and adjust treatments as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations

Licensure Requirements
  • Current Speech-Language Pathologist license in the State of New Mexico
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred (or Clinical Fellowship candidates welcome, if applicable)
  • License must be active and in good standing
