Job description

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assess patients' needs and perform evaluations, including standardized and objective tests.
  • Correlate assessment and test findings with appropriate interventions.
  • Notify physicians of changes in patient status and adjust visit frequencies as needed.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to improve speech, communication, cognition, and/or swallowing.
  • Develop a plan of care with achievable, measurable outcomes in coordination with the patient and/or responsible party.
  • Diagnose and manage speech, communication, cognitive, and swallowing dysfunctions.
  • Advocate for patients while promoting improved outcomes.
  • Adhere to technical/procedural skills and appropriate body mechanics.
  • Document consistently in accordance with federal, state, and national regulations, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
  • Maintain timely documentation and recertification per WHMC policy.
  • Stay abreast of industry changes and consistently complete assigned work on ongoing projects.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling, departmental opening and closing procedures, and cleaning.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate of an accredited school for Speech and Language Pathology at the time of hire.
  • Washington State licensure or the ability to obtain licensure in Washington state.
  • Certified Speech Language Pathologist with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Preferred: current valid unrestricted driver’s license at the time of hire.
  • Preferred: certified in AHA–BLS within 30 days of hire.
  • Preferred: previous experience in acute care and outpatient services.
POSITION DETAILS

Hours per week: 40. Employee status: Regular Full Time. Shift: Day Shift (United States of America). Pay range: $39.00 - $68.25 (actual pay varies based on experience).
