Job summary

Qualifications

• Holds Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
• Experience evaluating and treating communication, cognitive and swallowing disorders.
• Ability to communicate with patients, families and practitioners clearly.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients with communication, cognitive and/or swallowing disorders.
• Maintain and complete patient records in a timely manner.
• Communicate with patients, families, caregivers and practitioners to provide instruction and education.
• Enter therapy charges daily and ensure accuracy of minutes.
• Supervise speech therapy students if needed.
• Coordinate dysphagia protocols with other disciplines.
• Participate in ongoing education to maintain professional competency.
• Establish augmentative communication when appropriate.
• Screen new admissions and referrals per care plan.
• Display exemplary customer service and adhere to safety policies.
